Leading Mafia members from Germany, Nederland , Belgium, France, UK and Albania, has been personally identified by using their location , that was extracted from the EncroChat and SkY ECC encrypted phones they used .
Those low grade encrypted phones not only didn’t encrypt a thing but also revealed the exact location of users .
By matching locations of the regular smartphones they used and the EncroChat phones, the identification of suspects has been easily accessible. Part of suspects used those poorly encrypted phones from their homes or legit business offices and this too helped to identify the real person behind the anonymous usernames.
